What is your days and time of operation?

We are open everyday weather permitted.  Hours of operation: 9:00AM to 5:00PM and Summer 9:00AM to 6:00PM (Memorial Day to Labor's Day).

What is your phone number(s) and locations?

We have two locations KBS 1, (808) 944-1962 and KBS 2, (808) 944-1966).  KBS 1 is the larger beach stand that offers only beach rentals-closer to Hale Koa Hotel.  KBS 2 is the smaller beach stand that offers beach rentals and also surf lessons-beach front of the Army Museum.

Do I need to know how to swim to use your equipment?

Knowing how to swim is a plus but not necessary.  Please talk to beach worker to make sure the weather conditions are safe and if so make sure to request a lifevest for extra safety.  Recommend renting the Aqua Cycle which would be the most safest.

Do I receive a military discount if I am staying at the Hale Koa Hotel.

Yes, please present proof of Hale Koa Hotel guest pass, room key or military ID.

Is there parking available; If so what is the cost?

Yes, Hale Koa Hotel has two parking areas.  For pricing please call (808) 955-0555.

Do you take room charges?

Sorry we do not.

Is there an age limit for beach rentals?

You must be 18 years old to sign the liability forms.  The signing adult is responsible for all person(s)  using the rented equipment.

Does your location have public showers and restrooms?

Physical  location is next to Hale Koa Hotel swimming pool and beach front of the Army Museum.

Our Mission

We strive to provide the finest and safest quality of service to Hale Koa guests, their families and friends, active and retired military members, veterans and civilian guest of Fort DeRussy Beach Park.

Beach Rentals

We offer a variety of beach rentals from umbrellas and lounges, standup paddleboards, surfboards, aqua cycles aka floating water bikes, single, double and triple kayaking with lifevest and backsupports, bodyboards with fins, snorkel sets, fun Island floats with anchor, mirage eclipse aka stepboards-like walking on water.

Surf & Standup Lessons

Provided from Beach Boy Hale Surf School.  Our staff has many years of experience surfing and loves to keep the Hawaiian tradition of surfing alive.  There's lessons for beginners to advance.  All surf instructors are CPR and lifeguard certified by American Redcross and surf instructor certified by the Department of Land and Natural Resources through the State of Hawaii.
